about.

Sounds of Sagittarius began October 19th 2007 as a "song of the day" blog. It has gradually changed shape and format, as well as location, but the focus has remained basically the same - songs.

At the time of Sounds of Sagittarius' beginning, album sharing and review blogs were newly becoming popular. While I care about music and appreciate what sites like this do, my needs are more narrow and my patience too thin to take in whole albums at once. The decision to focus on songs, I hoped, would keep my attention and still leave me with something to talk about later. Similarly, sharing just individual songs already online would give readers new to bands a good place to start.

For the most part, I write about bands that could be labeled anything from heavy rock to metal. What I post changes as my tastes and interests of the moment change, so there are occasional deviations. While some artists may be predictable given my history, I still try to keep Sounds of Sagittarius somewhat fresh and/or interesting - often simply by writing irrelevant, half-serious content.

You can find out plenty of things about me from the blog, but to cover the bases: I'm not a Sagittarius, I am female, and what you were offended by was probably done in jest.

I strongly encourage visitors to utilize the search box and "tags" features - I see google throwing many hits my way that aren't truly relevant to what people are looking for, but I usually have posted about that very thing in my archives.

Lastly, thanks for visiting. Don't be afraid to comment once in a while, and definitely don't hesitate to check out any artists you don't know - here or anywhere.

Sometimes last.fm lies. Sometimes I really was listening to Madonna right after Meshuggah.
