I wrote another parody. This came about after reading an article online that featured a bunch of bands that haven't released socially relevant material in years. Either way, it's a little rough around the edges, so it should probably be considered a draft.
That said, It's a parody of Tool's "Flood". Enjoy.
(RARs... Zip files and RARs... Downloading RARs...)
All I knew,
and all I believed,
covers of magazines,
but not among them NME.
Subscribing to
Sound on the Sound,
Tumblr is inanity,
and then Blogspot let's us read.
But MTV is behind,
and the Voice is behind,
Pitchfork is behind,
and Wordpress is fine
but the RARs will come
and shame those behind
You must leave them behind
ascend to a new place now.
The sound of modern rock, guys,
is not an oligarchy.
Fight through the lies,
fight through the sheep,
fight through the stares,
to find destiny.
You are wrong.
Kyuss changed everything.
(Running away... now running away... I'm running away)
But MTV is behind,
and the Voice is behind,
Pitchfork is behind,
and Wordpress is fine
yes the RARs will come
and shame those behind
You must leave them behind
ascend to a new place,
RARs downloading hyperspeed,
said RARs downloading to my PC,
Perhaps some SunnO))) to slightly wet my feet,
Like Tool? have some progressive rock instead.
The sound is fake in all your magazines.
Cleanse and purge me with some RARs.
